So, the audition went well! They asked me back for a second audition, but this time reading another role. It can always be daunting because you ask yourself if you were not right for the initial role. After the audition you just have to forget about it. If they want you they will contact you. Of course I sent a little email about a week later just saying "remember me" or words to that effect.

My own casting has been bugging my mind a lot, but I am sure I will figure it all out. My old head of acting at BSA was telling me how my headshot envelops one 'type' that I can play well, but does not envelope my entire casting. So, I am using Ric Bacon's fantastic headshots again.

I saw Danton's Death at the National Theatre. I am a big fan of Buchner's version and this new one is done by Howard Brenton. It was good. I would like to see it again to compare performances. There were some excellent new speeches by Brenton, and words about dying that will stick by my side forever as a comforter. Toby Stephens was brilliantly cast, though I think some of his peers outshone him in skill and vocal technique, however, during the curtain call at the end, Toby's reluctants to have a bow on his own let me see a humbler side to him, and how proud he was of his whole cast. That's my kind of actor.

Recently, I have worn briefs on the Ambassador's stage in the West End. I have had what was originally thought of as mumps, but was never fully diagnosed. I have moved from Birmingham to London. Got a job at a pub to keep me here in London. And I am now trying to hone in on my acting work.

I have an audition on tuesday, so fingers crossed, as always. And I have been hearing about how my fellow peers are doing great in the industry, Tristan Pate has just landed a role in Dreamboats and Petticoats, and Andy is on Casualty. So good on them, but, I obviously want a piece of that pie too, so, come back again and see if I am getting somewhere, in the near future!
